Disturbing

We saw a very disturbing sight yesterday as we were driving along a busy road in Bellevue. Out in the middle of a three lane street, two cars were stopped and their drivers were out throwing punches at each other. One man was probably in his 40's and the other in his 20's.

I don't think I've ever witnessed punch throwing in person. I've seen plenty of staged fights on TV or a boxing match, but never something so real. The worst part was what followed. Both men got back in their respective vehicles and started driving in the same direction. We were directly behind them in our car, albeit a bit distanced! The younger man was leading and stuck his hand out the window to indicate that he wanted the other guy to follow him to the left. The older man turned right as soon as he saw the hand signal. The younger guy pulled across four lanes of traffic to follow. All I could hope was that he would drive to the nearest police station for his own safety! Scary!

There was no car accident involved in this situation. It was obvious that the younger guy was at fault because a few people stopped their cars in the middle of traffic and walked over to the older guy and wrote a few things down. Hopefully they were all calling to police to report what they had witnessed. I wish I would have seen the precursor to all of this. Could it have just been road rage? Has anyone else seen something like this before?
