Exciting Weekend!

I have such an exciting weekend coming up!

Brian lands in Seattle tomorrow morning at 7:00 AM from Singapore. We (ok, mostly me) are extremely excited to have him home. I'm looking forward to having a help with Nora and to have an adult to talk to in the evenings!

My dad lands in Seattle on Sunday at 11:00 AM. He is here to help us during our home renovation and impending move. He will be here until the 13th. He has quite the long list of things to do while he's here...hopefully he's been taking it easy in retirement because it's going to be pretty busy ;-)

Also on Sunday, we are taking out the engineered hardwood and some of the carpet in our new house in preparation for the red oak that is going to be laid on Monday. I am SO freaking excited to see that completed. Many of you were privy to the pictures of the casino carpet that plagues our family room. It is very clean and new, but I don't know who the hell would have picked something that should be walked on by blue haired old ladies toting their buckets of quarters and dropping their cigarette butts on it.

This past week, I took Nora to visit our new home for the first time. She eagerly ran from room to room inspecting everything she could. She kissed herself in the mirrored closet doors and flushed both toilets. She was in heaven. The best part was when the pizza was delivered. She ran to the front door yelling, "Pizza Man, Pizza Man!" We parked ourselves atop the ghastly carpet and enjoyed. I purposefully did not bring the paper towels to the floor so our messy hands could be wiped all over the carpet. Man, did that ever feel good! It was just like when Dad re did the bathroom in our Monticello house and he set the three of us loose on the walls with markers. Nora and I felt so naughty!

Enjoy your busy week-end. I don't know where you guys get the energy to do all of this, but it's one of the blessings of youth. It's great that Dwayne will be out to help. I can visualize Nora romping around the empty house.

Ok, just so long as you disliked that carpet, too. I saw the carpet, commented to myself "wow....that's hideous", and hoped you felt the same. Using the carpet as a napkin, thats great! Have fun with your grandpa, Nora! He's a great guy, I miss him (and your mommy, too)!
