No More Wisdom

It's official, I'm out of wisdom. Teeth that is. I'm only left with four gaping holes and an excessive amount of space at the back of my mouth. As some of you know, I have a big mouth. Not just theoretically, but in reality as well. I've been known to get my whole fist in my mouth after quite a few drinks. But now? It feels like my mouth is twice the size that it once was. This may seem strange, but I asked to keep the teeth once they were out. I couldn't believe their size! A couple of them look to be almost an inch long! No wonder I have so much more room in there! Plus, fifth graders love looking at that kind of crap.

The experience was not too bad. I only threw up once (thanks for pulling over so quickly Mom) and only had to take pain meds during the day for the first two days after the surgery. For some reason, the pain is much more acute in the evening hours, but this was expected from what the doctor told me. After watching Intervention on A & E as much as I do, I'm scared to take too much prescription medication for fear of turning into anaddicts. I can just see it: my whole family gathered in some obscure hotel room, waiting for me to walk in so they can tell me how much they hate to see me on Hydrocodone. Then off I'd fly to a treatment facility in Florida (they always send them across the country rather than a facility close by) to detox and then try to regain my ability to function without drugs.

Can you tell I watch too much Intervention?

Congrats! I remember mine, I had to be in at work the next day... a Saturday to boot. :( Hope they heal quickly... love flushing them with that little syringe.
