I think you need to throw some toys around. Perhaps some of Nora's underware too...or maybe little kid underware everywhere is just a problem at my house. You need random shoes strategically placed also.
Yeah, take care of that and the decorating will be perfect.

I'm kind of addicted to Designed to Sell on HGTV and every designer would say that you need to make that beautiful fireplace the focal point of the room. Maybe it's not possible to move the TV, but if you could move it in the same area as the fireplace, then you could open up the other end for a reading or toy area.
I think you should put your couch against the window and use the big wall with the painting on it to hold your t.v. That way you could see the t.v. without losing the fireplace.
If you saw my house up here in AK, you would not take advise from me.
School starts tomorrow for me. Enjoy the rest of your summer.

Honestly, April, I'm a floorplan kind of guy. The colors are nice, though, and the high windows in the corner, especially.
Just remember flow, conversational directions and (especially with children) circulation area.
