Finally
I finally got my deductible back from when my car got hit at the beginning of March! Should I get my car fixed or get a patio set and grill? Hmm...
CONGRATULATIONS
Way to go Dan and Vanessa! They made it official on Thursday night...they are engaged! We are VERY excited for you and can't wait to find out when we need to book our tickets for Hawaii ;-)

No more Cheetos for me
I've been having a craving for Cheetos for the past few days and today I finally got to indulge myself. Unfortunately, they wreaked havoc on my system and passed right through (accompanied by terrible cramps) within a matter of hours.
No more processed cheezy goodness for me!

Pukey
Food has not been my friend lately. It is so strange. It is like I have to decide what I am going to eat 5 minutes before or I'm not going to know if I want to eat what is there. For example, packing a lunch for myself at work has become a real issue. There are many tupperwares of random left overs that are just sitting in the fridge at school because I couldn't bring myself to eat them when 11:30 came around.
That is the other issue, I my hunger clock doesn't run on the school bells. And at this point, I can't make myself eat, just because my lunch time has arrived. This is a pretty difficult situation considering my job is dictated by the bell.
I've been eating a lot of rice and pretzels lately. Yummy.

Thoughts
I've found yet another thing to piss me off about the educational system. I just realized that my teaching license expired in December. I called up the state licensing system and they told me that the two tests I took in August weren't enough and I need to take one more test. Are you kidding me? Another test that shows I'm not a bumbling idiot? Plus I have to pay $110 to take the damn test! I'm annoyed. I'll be sitting in a high school auditorium on May 12 proving that I understand how to read, do math, and can write compentently. Morons.
I also am having another ultrasound on the 30th. I went back through my calendar and realized that there is no way that I was only 6 weeks when I had the ultrasound last week. If that were true, that would mean I got pregnant while Brian was in Germany. I'm hearing the snide remarks already, but Brian has already said them, so keep them to yourself :-) Anyway, I knew I was further along, but who can argue with a computer that is jammed up your vagina?
I'll keep you up to date.

Smells
Today has been a strange day for me. I've been getting whiffs of cat poop and b.o. all day. I've also been crazy tired. This morning I felt like if I moved too fast I might puke. Strangest feeling in the world.

Days off
It sure has been nice to have 5 days without worrying about which parents are going to call, what IEPs are overdue, and how I'm going to make it to the end of the day.
I've been able to do things I've been waiting to do for months. My massage on Tuesday was wonderful, minus the boobs interfering. I could hardly lay on my stomach at first because my boobs are twice their normal size and sore as hell. Brian's analogy was that if his penis doubled in size in the span of a few weeks, he'd be in pain too.
Salumi was very interesting! The deli opened at 11:00 am and I got there at about 11:20. The line was out to the street and I didn't see any movement. My first thought was they were acting very Italian and not opening on time. However, on closer examination, I learned that the line went all the way into the deli and people were leaving the door closed until there was room to move ahead. I stood in line for 45 minutes waiting for elaborate cuts of cured meats and cheeses. It was delicious!
Yesterday, I took a Thai cooking class at PCC (our local organic grocery) for 2.5 hours. It was amazing. The teacher was from Phuket, Thailand and told great stories from her childhood and helping her mother cook. We had a grapefruit and shrimp salad, masaman curry, phad thai, and a banana pastry. YUMMY! After my class, I headed to the salon to have my hair done.
All in all, it has been a relaxing week. I'm going to clean the house this morning (a task I've been avoiding all week) and then head out in search for some prego jeans that will fit right now. My belly is already starting to stick out and it is super sensitive. I must have some sensory integration issues in my lower abdomen when I'm pregnant because I can't stand anything digging in my gut. All my pants fit fine (a little tighter than normal) when I'm standing, but when I sit down, I have to immediately unbutton what ever it is that I'm wearing. Not cool. I'm off to Gap and Old Navy.

Jessica's Water Broke
I just got a phone call from Jay, some of you may recognize him as JayC in my comments sections. Jessica's water broke around midnight lastnight and she is now in the hospital. She had an epidural put in about an hour ago and they are just waiting for the big event!
I'll keep you posted.

What a day I have planned!
Today is going to be a day of bliss! I dropped Nora off at daycare this morning and found out that they dropped her weekly rate by $40 because they now consider her 'potty trained'. That was definitely a nice way to start the morning. I proceed to come home and make myself a pesto omelet with mushrooms and bacon. Yummy!
Now I am off to Seattle to explore a little and eat lunch at famed Salumi (cured meats made by Mario Batali's father). After which, I am returning to the East Side to have a massage and pedicure at the Pro Club.
What more could I want in a day?

This why I've been quiet
I've had a hard time keeping it a secret from you, so I've decided just to get it over with! We are expecting our second little one around Thanksgiving of this year. It was actually quite a surprise to us as we had been trying for a few months and has just figured it wasn't going to happen for a little while longer. Brian was opening a bottle of champagne, so I decided it would be a good idea just to make sure I was safe before splitting the bottle with him and my sister. We were both in shock! It was a fun way to find out!
I'll keep you posted with all the happenings of baby number two. I have my first check up on April 11th and should have ultrasound pictures to show you.
Spring Break
Spring Break has started out perfectly!
Friday night I attended by first pottery painting party. I met eight or nine new women and was able to connect with quite a few. It was nice to be able to have a conversation with someone new! That hasn't been happening much lately. I also had fun with the pottery. I chose a bowl for my experiment. I painted the interior beige and the exterior blue and then ran the blue over the inside edge of the bowl. It should turn out pretty cool. I'm able to pick it up on Wednesday. I'll take a picture and post it.
Saturday morning, Nora and I went swimming while Brian had a cavity drilled. Then she and I took a two hour nap together! After a little shopping, we dropped Nora off at Kristian and Anne Marie's house where she stayed over night. This is my exchange of services deal. I tutor Kristian every week and they watch Nora every couple of weeks. It is perfect!
Brian and I went out to a tapas restaurant in Seattle called Tango. We went there with Tracy and Dar almost a year ago and loved it. We loved it even more this time. We started out with wild mushrooms and jamon and blue cheese souffles. YUMMY! The second order we made was grilled pork with mashed sweet potatoes and grilled asparagus with an aoili sauce. WOW! We topped it off with a Brizillian nut cake, filled with chocolate, a boulle of coffee ice cream, and carmel mousse. It was an amazing night of food.
We ended the evening by watching Blades of Glory, the new Will Farrell movie. We haven't laughed that hard in a long time. It is definitely a movie you want to see if you don't want to think about anything serious! Our first choice would have been Name Sake, but we didn't want to wait until 10:25 to see a movie!
Now, this morning, I'm going shopping with a friend of mine. What more could I ask for in a weekend?
I'll try to get better about posting. Sorry about the hiatus.
